Venues
Magiko, a two-week celebration of summer, June 19- July 5, 2008, celebrates the beauty of the Carson Valley spotlighting the towns of Minden, Gardnerville and Genoa along with Topaz Lake. Magiko events take place throughout the region in venues ranging from in-town parks to remote off-road locales.
Minden
- Minden Park- Minden Park, located in the heart of town, is a great location to meet up with friends and enjoy a relaxing afternoon or evening. Pull up a chair or put down a blanket and enjoy free concerts staged in the gazebo throughout the summer.
- Minden-Tahoe Airport- The Minden-Tahoe Airport is a 990-acre general aviation non-towered airport. Built in 1942 as a military training base, the airport serves a broad base of aviation uses from corporate to recreational flying. The Magiko Summercross racetrack is located adjacent to the airport.
- Minden Village-A cluster of great retail shops at the north end of town, Minden Village is a community in itself offering block parties and great shopping all in one spot.
- CVIC Hall- Minden's CVIC Hall, a classic brick building along the main street, is home to numerous events throughout the year including art shows, concerts and community events.
Gardnerville
- Heritage Park- Just a block east from Highway 395 in downtown Gardnerville, Heritage Park is home to a variety of summer events including concerts and movies in the park. Bring a picnic, roll out a blanket and relax.
- Carson Valley Country Club- Located alongside the Carson Valley Golf Course, the Carson Valley Country Club is one of the area's well-known depots for Basque culture and cuisine.
- Stodick Estates- Serving as a reception locale for the Carson Valley Artist Studio Tours, Stodick Estates is a newer neighborhood in the Gardnerville area that includes Stodick Park.
- Pine Nut Mountains- Running along the east side of Carson Valley and joining the Sierra Nevadas to the south, the Pine Nut Mountains take their name from the Pinyon Pine which covers them. Used throughout history by a variety of different visitors, the area is now popular with hikers, off-road vehicle drivers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Genoa
- Mormon Station State Park- Mormon Station is the site of Nevada's first permanent non-native settlement. A replica of the original trading post built in 1851 houses a small museum with relics of pioneer days. Mormon Station is located in the small town of Genoa, 12 miles south of Carson City via U.S. 395 and State Route 206.
- Genoa Lakes Golf Club- In the Sierra Nevada's eastern foothills sits Genoa Lakes Golf Club & Resort, where you'll discover 36 championship holes on two semi-private courses built for players in pursuit of the ultimate game. The resort also features the intimate Antoci's Supper Club.
- Genoa Town Park- With an abundance of trees and grassy areas and nestled at the base of the Sierra Nevada, Genoa Town Park is home to numerous events and gatherings in Nevada's oldest non-native settlement.
