Title: 4th of July Pops in the Park
Description:

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Pops in the Park the Reno Philharmonic will perform under the direction of conductor Timm Rolek. at the Mormon Station State Park located at 2307 Main St. in Genoa, Nev. The Silver Anniversary program features KOLO TV personality John Tyson narrating the Lincoln Portrait and ends with Tchaikovsky's legendary 1812 Overture accompanied by real cannons.  In addition the program includes the Carson Chamber Singers, the Gairin Celtic Singers, a quartet from the Chorus of the Comstock, strolling violinists and a guest appearance by members of the Carson City Youth Orchestra.  Afternoon activities include strolling musicians, clowns, a hands-on area for children to learn about musical instruments, refreshments and a silent auction.

Festivities commence at 1 p.m. leading to the Reno Philharmonics performance at 4:15 p.m.  This enjoyable afternoon of family entertainment is free.  Food and beverages are available as well.
